Task 1: LinkedIn Post Graphic
Objective: Create a graphic for a LinkedIn post about “The Things Not to Do to Avoid Annoying Your Customers Even More When They Want to Cancel.”
The post:
๐ Story Time: The Tale of Two Subscription Services ๐
Once upon a time, there were two subscription businesses: EasyCancel Co. and HideNSeek Inc.
EasyCancel Co. understood the importance of a seamless offboarding experience. When customers decided to cancel, they could easily find the cancel button, provide minimal information, and receive a genuine “thank you” for their patronage. EasyCancel Co. also asked for feedback, using it to improve their service and win back customers in the future.
On the other hand, HideNSeek Inc. made canceling a nightmare. The cancel button was buried deep within the settings, and customers had to provide their life story just to proceed. HideNSeek Inc. bombarded them with irrelevant incentives and endless questions, delaying the process and frustrating customers even more.
๐ญ The Aftermath ๐ญ
EasyCancel Co.’s customers felt respected and appreciated, even as they moved on. They left positive reviews and recommended the service to others, knowing they could easily cancel if needed.
HideNSeek Inc.’s customers left angry and resentful. They warned others about the cancellation headache and vowed never to return. HideNSeek Inc.’s reputation suffered, and their growth stagnated.
๐ The Moral of the Story ๐
Treat your customers with respect, even when they’re leaving. Make the offboarding process as smooth as the onboarding, and you’ll leave a positive lasting impression.
Remember:
โ Make the cancel button easy to find
โ Only ask for necessary information
โ Offer relevant incentives, if any
โ Keep the process quick and simple
โ Always ask for feedback and learn from it
A smooth offboarding experience can turn a departing customer into a future advocate. Treat them right, and they might just come back one day!ย
